Marshall County Humane Society requires an appointment to show an animal since we are all volunteer. We do also require a home visit before finalizing adoption to check  the security of your fence if you are adopting a dog.  Our dogs are given much care and attention and we want to make sure they are in a safe and secure environment. We are  a limited intake adoption center and an all volunteer, non-profit organization. All of our animals are disease free, have been spayed/neutered and are up to date on shots. We charge a Dog adoption fee of $150 which includes a microchip. Our Cat adoption fee is $95.00. Most of our dogs will require a fenced yard. I'm Darby, a pretty Vizsla, Dachshund mix, and I've been in shelter since Feb. 2012...sad, but true. My sister, Cassie is there too. We are both very shy so we really need a forever home with someone who is very patient and can make several visits to shelter to get acquainted so I feel less fearful. Then maybe I could take a quick visit to your home and hopefully our future home, then back to shelter until I feel comfortable enough to call you Mom or Dad.  We have been together since puppies so it would be wonderful if we could go together to a real home. Fingers crossed,
